“LOVE”
This month, I want to share a bit about a topic of something very special that we celebrate this month: LOVE!
This is one of the most essential things in a person’s life. Who has never felt love for someone at a particular time in their life?
Benefits of expressing love and receiving love from someone.
Studies have shown that giving and receiving love and affection can improve health and lower anxiety and blood pressure; for example, couples who live in happy marriages and healthy friendship relationships tend to reduce depression and experience feelings of happiness. Studies have also demonstrated that kids who are shown love and affection by their mother feel a sense of security; it helps with brain development and creates a positive effect on his/her future relationships since it improves their self-esteem.
Self-care.
Quite often some women may believe that practicing self-love is selfish; however, this is not true. Giving yourself time to relax, time to do something you love; for example, a walk at the park, at the beach; a time for a refreshing and relaxing bath, spending time with friends, and even reward yourself with a “gift-to-self”, etc., helps with calming down the stressful day, allowing for recharging energy to handle new tasks and responsibilities.
While it is very important to care for others, it is also essential that one takes care of oneself. Being in good health and wellness balance is helpful so that one can give to others. Remember, you are as important as the people you care about and love.
Have an amazing Valentine’s Day!
